Meet our New Youth Forum
We were pleased to recently welcome new members of the Surrey FA Youth Forum to our home at Meadowbank Football Ground, for a collaborative launch event with members of the Surrey FA team.
The purpose of the Youth Forum is to bring together a group of young volunteers aged 16-24, who create a range of inclusive and meaningful opportunities, which provide young people with a voice that matters in local grassroots football.
Along with learning about our organisation, meeting members of our Staff, Board and interacting with one another for the first time, the Youth Forum were also treated to Surrey FA branded goods to set them off in style as they settle into their new roles.
Chairing the Youth Forum is Emma Clarke, who is well known for her role on the FA National Youth Council, recently serving as Chair, and familiarity with Surrey grassroots football through her playing and coaching roles, as well as previous involvement with the Surrey FA Youth Forum.

Responsible for the recruitment of the Youth Forum, was Surrey FA Football Development Officer, Helen Ogle, who said:
“It’s been a thoroughly enjoyable process seeing the return of the Youth Forum to the County and one where we’ve had the chance to meet some outstanding young minds who care deeply for driving grassroots football to their peers, something we as an organisation support fully. This event has been a fantastic way of welcoming them to the team!”
Sally Lockyer, CEO of Surrey FA added:
“The Youth Forum is crucial to the work we do here at Surrey FA, and previous members have left a legacy that has helped shape our work, drive our strategy and champion our values. It has been a joy to meet these new members who, I have no doubt, will continue to build on the successes of the Youth Forum and maximise opportunities for young people in Surrey grassroots football."
