e-world cup finals

Surrey FA host E-World Cup Finals

Gamers faced off against one another to be named champion

With the World Cup now advancing to the knockout stages, our very own e-World Cup tournament concluded on Friday evening at Meadowbank.

The tournament provided the opportunity for grassroots clubs, players, and volunteers to show off their gaming skills whilst playing as an international team.

Starting in October with preliminary rounds taking place online, the 12 players who made it to the finals were welcomed to Meadowbank, home of Surrey FA, to battle it out for the trophy and an international shirt of their choice.

Competitors were treated with exclusive FIFA cards, pizza, and refreshments whilst the rooms were decked out with international flag bunting to reflect the unique theme of the event.

Our finalists consisted of players, volunteers, coaches, and referees representing Ashmount Leigh, Woking & Maybury FC, Stoughton FC, Surbiton Lions, Newdigate FC, Hersham FC, Farncombe FC, Mayford Athletic FC, Broadbridge Heath, Reigate Priory FC to name a few.

By the end of the evening, it was Steven McLaughlin who took home the plaudits alongside his trophy and football shirt voucher, as he triumphed 6-2 in the final. Surrey FA would like to extend our thanks to all the players who took part.
