On 28th October we will be hosting a panel discussion as part of our Black History Month celebrations. The online event will see a diverse panel from across the game, discuss their experiences and the state of equality in football.
The session on Wednesday 28th October will take the format of an open discussion to explore the positive experiences, as well as the challenges, the panel members have experienced in their careers so far. This will be followed by an opportunity for Q&As with the panel members.
The panel will be chaired by Surrey FA’s Inclusion Advisory Group Chair and Professional Footballers' Association Education Adviser Riz Rehman. He will be joined on the night by Founder and CEO of The Equal Group, Mac Alonge and Arsenal Fan TV presenter and former Crawley Town FC player Cecil Jee Thomas. The panel will also include QPR FC Women's player and AFC Wimbledon Foundation Female Development & Inclusion Officer Kasha Petit, Palace for Life’s Education, Training and Employment Manager and Race Equality Lead, Cigdem Turkan, as well as Tooting & Mitcham United Joint-Manager Cornelius Nwadialor.
In 2017, we became the first County FA to achieve the Intermediate Standard for Equality in Sport. We are currently working towards achieving the Advanced Standard.
The session will take place at 7pm on Wednesday 28th October. To sign-up and join the event, click the button below.
