Surrey FA Welcomes Four New Non-Executive Board Directors

Meet our new board members

Surrey FA proudly announces the appointment of four new Non-Executive Board Directors, each bringing a wealth of expertise and experience to the organisation.

Laura Ashworth-Cape, appointed as Non-Executive Director (Legal), boasts extensive experience as the Head of Legal, having served in various capacities, including as Legal Counsel for Arsenal FC and currently at the global esports brand, Fnatic. Laura’s legal acumen and passion for football governance will undoubtedly fortify Surrey FA's legal framework and ensure the organisation operates with the highest standards of integrity and compliance.

Kate Field, assuming the role of Non-Executive Director (Wellbeing and Safety), brings a profound commitment to fostering cultural change centred around trust, inclusion, and wellbeing by prioritising people Kate is currently Global Head Human and Social Sustainability at the British Standards Institute (BSI); alongside experience at the Institute for Occasional Safety and Health (ISOH) the world’s leading professional body for people, health and safety in the workplace, and at Easy Jet as Health, Safety and Wellbeing Manager.  Kate’s dedication to creating safe and supportive environments aligns seamlessly with Surrey FA's mission to promote football as a vehicle for positive personal development. 

Donna Orman joins as Non-Executive Director (Women & Girls), bringing with her a distinguished background from global brands including Nike, Virgin and Tesco. Donna is currently Senior Director, Loyalty for Nike, where she leads the global brands’ loyalty strategy and membership program across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). With a proven track record of driving engagement and growth, Donna is poised to enhance opportunities for women and girls in football across Surrey.

Garry Porter, joining Surrey FA as Non-Executive Director (Finance), brings over two decades of experience as a seasoned Finance Director, having been trained by the prestigious Big 4 firms. As CFO at Person Centre Software, the market leader in integrated software solutions for care management within social care. Garry has also held senior roles at Sabre, the technology company powering the global travel industry as well as Kingfisher and Visa Europe. His expertise in financial management and strategic planning will be instrumental in ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of Surrey FA.

Collectively, the four directors represent a pivotal addition to our Board and the wider organisation. Each Director brings a unique and valuable set of skills and experience to strengthen our Board as we continue to drive our ambitious long-term strategy for grassroots football in Surrey and to make football inclusive, safe, sustainable and fun."
