73k Boost For Grassroots In Surrey

Clubs across Surrey set to benefit from Grow The Game grant, as The FA funding is awarded for 2018

Clubs across Surrey set to benefit from Grow The Game grant, as The FA funding is awarded for 2018.

Twenty clubs across Surrey have been selected by the Football Foundation to receive grants through the Grow The Game scheme, carried out in partnership with The Football Association.

The grants, which total a massive £73.5k, were introduced to help the creation of underrepresented groups. As such, clubs with plans to develop female teams (from U7 to Adult) and disability teams were invited to apply, with grants of £1500 available per team.

“These grants are great news for grassroots football in Surrey,” said Mike Gilham, Football Development Manager. “Funding new teams who have been underrepresented previously is a brilliant way to ensure community football flourishes, as the whole of grassroots will benefit from the increased diversity in the game.”

The twenty clubs, who now have two months to accept this offer, are as follows:

  • Esher Ladies FC
  • Churt Juniors Football Club
  • Manorcroft United JFC
  • Haslemere Town Youth FC
  • Mary Frances Trust
  • Mayford Athletic Football Club
  • Epsom Athletic Falcons Youth FC
  • Oakleaf Enterprise
  • Pure Futsal Academy
  • Shelton Athletic FC
  • East Surrey Girls FC
  • Mole Valley Girls FC
  • Byfleet Village FC
  • Richmond Futsal Club
  • Red Lodge Ladies Fc
  • Walton Casuals Juniors FC
  • Reigate Women Football Club
  • Wandgas Football For All FC
  • Rocks Lane FC
  • Farncombe Youth Football Club
