The Surrey County Football Association was formed in 1877 and today is proud to boast a membership of more than 1,000 clubs.

At a meeting in Guildford on 16 March 1882 it was reorganised and voted to affiliate to the Football Association and at the same time a County Senior Cup competition. was introduced. The ten clubs present at the meeting were Clapham Rovers, Dorking, East Sheen, Esher, Farnham Guildford, Reigate Priory, St. Thomas's Hospital, Surbiton and Barnes.

The Surrey FA mission statement is to pave the way in: "Leading the development of grassroots football in Surrey ensuring participation and enjoyment of football by everyone."
