Surrey FA today announced that Les Pharo has stepped down as Chair.
The Board is especially grateful to Les for his significant and long-standing contribution to Surrey FA and grassroots football. Les has guided the County through many challenges, not least the global pandemic, but also overseen many achievements including the opening of Meadowbank Football Ground.
Les commented “After eleven rewarding years I have decided to stand down as the Chair of Surrey County FA. My board colleagues were aware of my intention to stand down before the next AGM, and after a period of reflection I have decided that now is the right time for me to step back and focus more time on my private life, with my wife and family.”
Soye Briggs, Vice-Chair has stepped into the role as interim Chair with immediate effect and the Board will begin the process of recruiting a new Chair shortly.
