Surrey FA Staff Selected for the FA Leadership Academy
Surrey FA will be represented by two members of staff at The FA Leadership Academy, which begins in August at St. George’s Park.
Football Development Assistant Chloe Longdon has been selected as one of the 45 attendees at the academy, and will join up with all other participants on August 4th.
The FA Leadership Academy aims to improve the capability of youth leaders and our network of Youth Councils and Forums. Throughout the week the FA Leadership Academy will look to invest in the learning and development of the youth leaders.
Once the training is complete, the youth leaders will return to their counties with the responsibility of cascading information, and helping to impact the game locally over the coming season.
Surrey FA’s second representative this year will be Football Development Manager Mike Gilham, who has been selected to become a Youth Leader Mentor.
Mike, whose role as Youth Leader Mentor will see him support the group of youth leaders during the FA Leadership Academy, spoke of his delight at Chloe being accepted onto the programme.
“Chloe has been a member of our Youth Forum for 2 years and has provided exceptional commitment to the cause during that time. She’s a talented member of the team and we really feel this programme will benefit her.”
“Chloe is conscientious and will no doubt contribute to the multiplier effect, cascading key messages to our Youth Forum at Surrey FA. Chloe was instrumental in our rainbow flick campaign during 2017-18 season which raised awareness of our Football v Homophobia month of action.”
