Specsavers sign on with Surrey FA for three more years

Headline sponsor Specsavers agree to three more years of supporting grassroots football for all in Surrey.

Surrey FA is delighted to announce that its headline sponsor, Specsavers, has extended its support for a further three years. The agreement will ensure that the leading British optical retail chain continues to support Surrey FA in its mission of creating football opportunities for all.

Following the renewed partnership, Caroline McRoyall, Chief Executive of the Surrey FA, spoke of her delight and ambition moving forward.

“We’re really excited to have Specsavers on board for another three years. The partnership so far has been really beneficial for both of us, so to continue on the great work was an easy decision to make.”

Since the partnership began in 2016, Surrey FA and Specsavers have collaborated on a wide range of projects, that includes inspiring more girls and people living life with disabilities to partake in the sport.

The next exciting phase of the partnership will see the opticians join the Surrey FA’s journey to its new home at Meadowbank Football Ground. This state of the art facility is destined to become the hub of football development in Surrey – so the future certainly looks very bright for the Surrey community.

Dan Smithard, Director of Specsavers in Banstead comments on behalf of his colleagues: “It is a real honour for us to partner with and support the Surrey FA. Together, we share the same ambition: to enhance everyone’s health and wellbeing, regardless of one’s age, gender and physical capability.

“Our investment will help the Surrey FA continue with its great work in making football accessible to everyone. For us, to back an initiative that celebrates the love of this great game - in the towns and cities where we have a Specsavers store across Surrey – is an honour and we look forward to the next three years.”

Following the extension of the partnership, Surrey FA is excited to announce their launch event on 16th July, with Meadowbank Football Ground playing hosts to FA Cup Youth winners Chelsea U18’s, who will take on Oxford United U18’s.

Attendance to the game will be free of charge, with donations encouraged in support of Surrey FA and Specsavers’ main charity partner – the Royal National Institute for Blind people (RNIB) with volunteers on the evening collecting on behalf of the charities.

“Not only are we delighted to be showcasing our state-of-the-art facilities with such an eye-catching game, we’re also very pleased to be able to support RNIB as a result. The night will be fantastic, and we’re looking forward to celebrating with our partners, whilst supporting such a worthy cause.

The game will take place on the 16th July, with a 7.30pm kick-off.
