Cup Finals To Be Moved From Meadowbank

Further complications mean 2017/18 finals will not be held at the new Meadowbank Football Ground as planned.

Due to the further delay in the completion of Meadowbank Football Ground, which are outside of our control, Surrey FA has regrettably taken the decision to move all of the 2018 County Cup Finals away from the facility.

Naturally, this is a very disappointing decision for the County FA to have to make, and Surrey FA would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused so far for everyone involved in cup finals that have been moved or rescheduled.

We still aim to provide a fantastic experience for players, match officials and volunteers, and hope that all involved understand and continue to cooperate with us in the brilliant way that they have so far.

Whilst large parts of the football ground are complete - vital areas including access, catering and more are not fully functional as Surrey FA were promised they would be.

Moving Forward

Surrey FA has received several offers of support from clubs across the county to host our cup finals and we will now be looking to take up their offers.

“We are grateful for the support our clubs have shown us,” continued Caroline. “We have hosted the finals around Surrey since the start of the competitions, and we are confident that the experience for our finalists will be as great as ever.”

At this stage, the Sunday Intermediate and Sunday Premier Cup finals will be rearranged. With all other finals however, where possible, we will look to keep the dates the same, dependent on availability of facilities and necessary risk assessments.

Further details will be confirmed as soon as possible as we work with clubs and respective leagues to rearrange as efficiently as possible.
