Disability Booster Pack

DISABILITY BOOSTER PACK

Surrey FA are pleased to announce this year’s Disability Booster Pack fund, to provide disability and mental health teams, clubs and sessions with grants to support them with growing and consolidating their disability provision, and to help with any funding difficulties due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Last year’s Disability Booster Pack programme saw 10 clubs receive funding to either grow a new team or support an existing one, with 4 adult teams, 1 female team and 1 youth team being created with support from the grant. Surrey FA’s Football Development Officer (Disability) says, “This funding is a great opportunity for clubs who want to develop their disability provision but need a boost to enable them to do so. It’s great to be offering this support for the third year in a row to help develop and strengthen disability football in Surrey.”

This season’s Booster Pack will provide grants in kind for disability/mental health teams. Money will not be directly given to clubs, but items like affiliation and league fees, kit, or any specialist equipment needed for disability football will be paid for and provided by Surrey FA. Up to £500 is available per team.

Grant conditions

  • Applications to be on behalf of a disability or mental health club, team or organisation who are looking to grow a new team for the 2020/21 season (a team which is not currently affiliated) or who need extra support for their existing disability provision to continue next season
  • Applicants who have not recently received or applied for Grow The Game funding, or other financial grant from Surrey FA or another body will have priority
  • Priority will also be given to projects who will be looking to develop a youth disability team or an impairment specific team, and to any team who will struggle to run next season without this funding
  • Maximum grant of £500 per new team and £300 per existing team
  • School teams are not eligible
  • Priority will also go to Charter Standard clubs. Any successful applicants who are not currently Charter Standard must achieve it during the 2020/21 season
