Funding for the growth of your club

how to apply

The Club Development Fund aims to assist with one-off costs for the effective establishment and delivery of innovative ideas to recruit more players.

The fund can help cover things like kit purchases or equipment, but can also go into the delivery of coaching sessions, or pitch hire for a one-off event.

Use the button below to be directed to our application form, and see if you could be entitled to additional funding.

club development fund FAQs

The Club Development Fund is only applicable to Charter Standard Clubs and those clubs working towards the accreditation within 12 months - evidence must be provided.

There are minimal prerequisites for applications, however your application must detail exactly how you wish to spend the awarded funding and how plans will support player recruitment.

When applying please consider the following:

  • Be realistic. For example: £1,000 will not be awarded for one new team
  • Applications for 13+ male, female and disability teams will be prioritised in line with National FA priorities
  • Demonstrate community partners. (E.g.  parish / community town councils, facilities, schools or other clubs)
  • Include exit routes where appropriate. (For example: U18 linking to an adult team)
  • The scheme is not for facility development
  • Seek partner funding from external and additional funding partners / sources

The awarded contribution should be seen as a one off start up fund, so the applicant club needs to demonstrate how they intend to sustain the running of the provision beyond the first season.

Outlined below are some suggestions of what the Club Development Fund subsidy might be used towards. Please note that these are just ideas and not a definitive list.

  • Kit for new teams
  • Coaching courses for volunteers
  • Referee education
  • Pitch hire for a one off event to launch your team or project
  • Coaching sessions in a school or college
