Courses FAQs

Courses

Following a thorough review of all of the courses we had planned for the 2020/21 season, we've been closely assessing the impact that lockdown and the Covid-19 crisis is having on all our learners. Having carefully considered the implications of running courses we have decided not to start the delivery of any new face-to-face education between now and December.

During this period our focus will be on supporting learners to complete courses already started before lockdown. We will also be running a small number of first aid courses for those that require these as part of their role in football.  Dates will be released on the relevant section of our
website very soon for these first aid courses.

If you had previously booked a course which had not started we will be in contact with you directly to confirm the next steps and organise refunds for you.

For all of those who would like to start their coaching journey, there is a brand new (FREE) online course available for you called The 'FA Playmaker'. We highly recommend completing this course to help support you and your team for the season.

Looking forward, The FA will be offering new course provision from March 2021. They will be releasing some further information on the changes soon, as well as providing more detail about these courses in the new year. Please note that bookings for these new courses are not open yet.

We apologise for the inconvenience our decision regarding course delivery may have, but as I am sure you will appreciate our priority is to ensure safe delivery during these very challenging times and allow us to best support the new course structure from March 2021.

We hope to see you on a course very soon.

Should you no longer wish to take up the offer to transfer to the next available course, Surrey FA will issue you a full refund to the account used to purchase the place. If your place was purchased by a club, league or other party then the refund will only be issued to this person/organisation.

(FA Level 1, FA Level 2, Referee courses or Futsal courses only)

Our priority is to support you to complete the course as soon as possible and we shall allow a transfer to the same course, at the same stage where you had reached prior to the postponement. We will relax our transfer policy which would have previously incurred a fee for switching to other courses during this time.

Should you still wish to receive a refund please be aware you will only receive a partial refund depending on how much of the course is still left. For example, if you have are completing the FA Level 2 and have completed block 1 only, you will receive a £300 refund (150 for each remaining block).

Please note that if you chose to receive a refund you will not complete the respective qualification and will not be eligible for certification. You may also be liable to pay the full course costs should you apply again at a later date. This decision will be at the discretion of Surrey FA.

Surrey FA is not able to provide anyone who has received a bursary with a refund or cash alternative and therefore the bursary will need to be returned to Surrey FA.

If you received a bursary for part of the course then you will receive a refund equal to the amount that was paid by you, a club, league or other party.

We will still honour this bursary, subject to availability, should you wish to take up your place on the same course at a later date.
