Depending on your ambitions and development there are also opportunities to referee beyond Surrey in the future and even internationally. Earlier this season, 4 Surrey FA registered referees were selected to officiate at the Dana Cup in Denmark – click here to read their story.

We have a proud history of developing referees to the highest level with a selection either being on the FIFA Referees Panel, Premier League and Football League.

Whether you aspire to referee a World Cup Final or help out your local youth or adult leagues, every new referee needs to attend and pass a referees course run by their County Football Association and this will be your first step to becoming a Surrey FA Referee. Refereeing is rewarding, social and with the help of Surrey FA there are even opportunities to turn your passion into a profession at the highest level, as long as you have the talent and the time to dedicate. Please also remember that Safeguarding is an important aspect for any referee and we encourage you to find out more about what safeguarding means for referees by clicking here.

Referee Training Courses and examinations are arranged throughout Surrey at regular intervals during the season. For your nearest course, please regularly check the Referee Courses page by clicking here.
