Surrey FA launch Super Sevens Tournament

Surrey FA held the Youth Super Sevens Tournament on Sunday 3rd July

On Sunday the 3rd of July, Surrey FA held the first of our Super Sevens Festivals, to celebrate the start of the Women’s EUROS.

Held at Goals Wimbledon, we welcomed 45 girls teams aged U9 - U16s from across Surrey. The 7-a-side festival was focused on participation, giving teams the chance to play lots of games in a round-robin style festival.

As part of the celebrations, we entertained the players with an interactive hub of activities. This included a map of Surrey to encourage teams from respective areas to pledge their support for the Women and Girls game, an arts and crafts station where players could design their own kits for the EUROS, as well as a skills challenge for players to show off their keepie uppies skills to win Surrey FA prizes.

Emma Eaton, our Football Development Officer for Women & Girls' was in attendance and had the following to say:

"The purpose of Surrey's Super Sevens was to build the excitement for the Women's EUROs this July and to engage with female teams from across Surrey. It was fantastic to see so many happy, smiley faces and to hear about what clubs are doing to develop and support Women's and Girls football."

Next up we are hosting our Adult Super Sevens festival on the 17th July, where we are holding a similar tournament suitable for women across Surrey who wish to play recreational, walking or league football. All attendees entered into a draw to win tickets to the Womens Euros. Sign up now by following the link below.
