Female Coaches Club in service image

Chelsea Ladies Host Succesful Female Coaches Club

Monday 2nd October saw the first Female Coaches Club (FCC) In-service event of the season which took place at Chelsea Ladies Regional Talent Club...

Eighteen members of the FCC group had the opportunity to attend this free event which gave them an insight into the Female Talent Pathway and to see Surrey’s only RTC in action.

The group were also very fortunate to have Emma Hayes MBE, Chelsea Ladies Manager, open the evening with a very inspirational talk about her career highs and lows so far.

Following this, the coaches had the opportunity to observe the RTC training sessions for the U10, 12, 14 & 16 age groups, before Rob Udberg, Chelsea Ladies First Team Coach & RTC Technical Director, spoke to the ladies about the importance of player development and the coaching philosophies that the club strive towards.

Emma Barnes, Senior Football Development Officer, Surrey FA, said "It was great to see so many enthusiastic female coaches at this event. Events such as this are really important as they provide an opportunity for the ladies to network with others, share ideas and get an insight into a different coaching environment."

One of the benefits of becoming a member of the FCC is access to the FA Coach Mentoring Programme.  We are very fortunate in Surrey to have a Coach Mentor dedicated to supporting and developing our female coaches and on the evening the ladies were made aware of this fantastic opportunity.

Amy Price, FA Coach Mentor, said ‘’It is very inspiring to work collaboratively with a number of female coaches. The Female Coaches Club is a safe environment where likeminded people can share their experiences, and challenge one another's thinking. The mentoring support available as part of the FA Coach Mentor programme, is an opportunity to help build upon the concept of being a 'critical friend'. Most importantly, it's about facilitating a transformational learning process, so that coaches feel better equipped to support their players appropriately.’’

Surrey FA would like to extend our thanks to Chelsea Ladies for hosting us on the evening and opening their doors to the RTC.
