Introducing Our New Management Comittee

Surrey FA is pleased to introduce their new Management Committee after an open application and interview process.

The 7 appointed members cover a variety of backgrounds including involvement within grassroots clubs and leagues, business, commercial and funding knowledge, referee experience, as well as representatives working for two of our key partners Palace For Life Foundation and Active Surrey.  

Joining the 7 appointed members are the Chair of the Youth Forum Oli Moore and 3 Surrey FA staff members Andrew Dickinson, Operations Manager, Mike Gilham, Football Development Manager and Ashley Gumbrell, Football Services Manager.

The Committee’s purpose will be to regulate and manage all footballing matters within the County and will oversee the activities of all other standing committee reporting to the Chief Executive. They will provide strategic leadership to deliver the Surrey FA strategy ensuring targets are met and monitored.

The Chair of the Committee Peter Ashdown has been involved with the County since 2015 and has many years business expertise running his own business as a Chartered Surveyor and football knowledge through his previous roles as Chairman of Leatherhead Football Club and Bookham Football Club as well as being a current registered referee.

“The review of the Management Committee was led by the Board of Trustees and designed ensure succession planning for the Board,” says Caroline McRoyall, Surrey FA Chief Executive. “It was important to have an open application process to ensure a transparent and fair process and give equal opportunities for anyone to be involved. The new committee has a wide range of skills and our first meeting generated lots of discussion and new ideas.”

The newly appointed members are as follows;
Peter Ashdown – Chair,  Paul Blair – Vice Chair, Steve Cottingham, Lizzie Liebenhals, Lawrie Baker, Roxanne Bennett, Lorraine Kennedy.
