How Is SSE Wildcats Driving Participation?

This week, 6th-12th November, is The FA Girls Football Week, where all things girls football are celebrated - all in tandem with our aim to double female participation by 2020.

We visited the Palace For Life Foundation's Wildcats session, and met Sara - a girl who was on the verge of quitting football altogether before finding Wildcats.

Her story is one likely to ring true with lots of girls; despite having a passion for football since she could walk, she wasn't allowed to join in with the boys at school, and so stopped enjoying it.

Through creating a fun and safe environment for girls aged 5-11,  SSE Wildcats is ensuring that girls like Sara have somewhere to continue to develop, and really enjoy their football. Sara, who now plays for Crystal Palace Ladies as a result of Wildcats, is one of over 1000 girls across the country in the Wildcats sessions.
