Surrey Futsal Teams Set For Nationals

April and May saw Surrey FA run 7 Youth Futsal Tournaments, held at Woking Leisure Centre, which were attended by over 600 players aged 9–16 in both boys and girls categories.

The standard of Futsal being played increases year on year, which is a testament to the sport as a whole which continues to grow in popularity, and also the coaches, whose increased knowledge is being passed onto the players.

The winners of the tournaments were as follows:

Girls County Winners

U12s – Crystal Palace Ladies

U14s – AFC Wimbledon Ladies

U16s – Crystal Palace Ladies

Boys County Winners

U10s – Inspire Futsal Academy

U12s – London Elite

U14s – Go4Goal

U16s – Go4Goal

The Dorkinian’s Manager, Nolan Collins, said it was a “great tournament with a good level played by all.”  This was reinforced by the KPR Manager, Jonathan Moore, who said the occasion was “very enjoyable”, and that his “team really enjoyed it.”

“It was a fantastic morning,” echoed the AFC Wimbledon Manager Wayne Francis. “It ran to time superbly and was very enjoyable.”

The winners of each age group progressed to the South East Regional Finals, where they represented Surrey FA against our local neighbours. 6 of the 7 teams were eventual winners of the Regional Finals and now go onto the National Finals at the end of June, where we wish them all the best of luck.
