The competition is searching for communities to nominate coaches who deserve to be awarded and recognised for the work they do for the women’s game. The search begins in the UK and Ireland for outstanding individuals before targeting other countries with the same objective.

Women’s Soccer United (WSU) and TeamSnap pursue the goal of providing recognition to the unsung heroes of coaches involved in female football.

“We believe that coaches have an amazing impact on kids’ lives” said Ken McDonald, TeamSnap’s Chief Growth Officer.

“Our motivation is to allow coaches to spend time working with these young athletes, helping them develop lifelong skills through sport, not wasting time with logistics. That’s why the TeamSnap app was created.”

“There are thousands of dedicated coaches across the UK and Ireland making it possible for girls to play football. We believe they deserve to be recognised and awarded for their efforts” said Gina West, Founder of Women’s Soccer United.

“It’s time to hear more about the extraordinary coaches who go the extra mile, dedicating endless hours for the benefit and enjoyment of players of every ability. Which is why, together with TeamSnap, we are launching our Community Coach Award.”

“Coaches are a vital part in growing women and girl’s football from grassroots upwards, building a happy and rewarding environment for players. We want to promote and reward the great work being done as well as learn about the positive impact it has on the players and the sport as a whole.”

The Community Coach award is designed to help raise awareness of the tireless work that goes into coaching by promoting the great work and achievements of coaches and trainers and sharing them with our global audience.

As well as winning an ipad mini courtesy of TeamSnap, the winning coach will be promoted on the immensely popular WSU website and on social media.

The nominations are now open (click here to be redirected) and will close on 1 September 2016. The WSU team will review the nominations and select a deserving winner.
