The second annual Epsom Community Football Festival christened a new 3G astro-turf pitch in the area last week, bringing together teams from all different backgrounds in the borough.
10 community sides took part in the tournament on 30th June, ranging from homeless shelters, ethnic minority groups and a police team, with a side from as far as Bournemouth also participating.
Mayor of Epsom & Ewell Christine Long opened the new facility which hosted the event, saying: “The community is truly grateful for the level of support given and I hope the pitch will continue to be in high-demand letting future generations benefit.”
The team that got their hands on the trophy after a magnificent tournament were Fulham Kick’n, while Epsom Mosque picked up the Sportsmanship Award.
