WANDGAS FC RECEIVE CHARTER STANDARD AWARD AT CHELSEA

Wandgas FC were rewarded for all their hard work in achieving Charter Standard Community status - the highest accolade a grass-roots club can achieve - by having their award presented to them at Stamford Bridge.

The presentation took place on the pitch at halftime of Chelsea's Carling Cup clash against Liverpool, with the Reds just shading a 2-0 win.

Blues old boys Steve Finnieston carried out the presentation, who played for Chelsea during the 1970’s and scored 37 to times in 90 appearances, along with Surrey County FA College and Community Football Coordinator John O'Malley.

"Wandgas FC are fully deserving of this award and presentation. The club are very well run and a credit to to the Charter Standard awards scheme," said John.
