Safeguarding Children Update

Mark Walter, the Surrey County FA Welfare Officer would like to say a huge thank you and well done for all those clubs and leagues that have a Welfare Officer in place for the 2008/09 season. We currently have 295 Club Welfare Officers and 11 League Welfare Officers now appointed.

Charter Standard Schools Programme Stopped

Following approval from the Football Development Committee and National Game Board the Charter Standard Schools Programme will be stopped with immediate effect.

With the launch of the new National Game Strategy and the emphasis of The FA’s core work of club and league development it is now felt the right time to amalgamate the scheme into the School Club Link Programme. The FA will communicate directly to Charter Standard Schools to advise them of the changes and encourage them to contact their County FA to be involved in Club Links
