The morning consisted of the Promotion Exam and a fitness warm up session which was led by Errol Walker. This was followed by lunch and already there was a ‘buzz’ with those attending saying how informative Errol’s session had been. The afternoon consisted of a series of 30 min outdoor practical workshops. The instructors then gave a feedback from their sessions and the candidates departed saying how much they enjoyed the day. We were fortunate with the weather as the rain kept off.
The sessions included Starting Positions, Viewing Positions, Awareness, Movement, Communication and Confrontation. The feedback was very good and all those involved enjoyed the challenge of working outdoors rather than in a classroom.
One of the many complimentary comments that was made to me and stood out the most was ‘Horley Town FC has such good facilities and we should all aspire to referee at this level’.
My thanks also go to Horley Town FC for let us using their facilities.
