Football Workforce Awards

Reward your volunteers with the Football Workforce Awards

The Football Workforce Awards is a scheme whereby clubs can say ‘thank you’ to all of their volunteers who give-up their time to keep football going every week up and down the county. The Football Association has produced some certificates and, new for this year, FA Volunteer pin badges to reward volunteers at clubs and leagues, which clubs are now welcome to apply for to distribute as a way of recognising their volunteer’s contribution to the game. Any clubs or leagues who would like to apply for these resources please contact Nick Drew at the county offices, at nick.drew@surreyfa.com.

All clubs and leagues can also now nominate a person to be considered by the Surrey County FA for a County Award. The County Workforce Awards recognise when an extraordinary level of effort and hard-work has been put into the grassroots game by one individual. To nominate an individual for the County Awards simply fill out the attached Football Workforce Nomination Form and return to Nick Drew at the County Offices by no later than Friday 30th May 2008 for your nominations to be considered.

The Surry County FA will then review all of the nominations received by the 30th May and select 5 winners, based on the strength of the applications. These 5 winners will then receive awards from the County FA, rewarding them for all of their efforts and work. From the 5 winners, the county will then nominate 1 to go forward to be considered for a National Award courtesy of The FA.

In addition to these awards, clubs and leagues can also nominate a Young Volunteer to the County FA. The County will then select 1 winner from the nominations received, again based on the strength of the nomination, and this winner will not only receive an award from the county but will automatically be put forward for a National Award with The FA, who will select 3 Young Volunteers to attend The FA Community Shield in August. To be eligible for the Young Volunteers Award the candidate must have been under the age of 18 at the start of this season (2007/08). To nominate an individual for this award simply fill-out the attached Football Workforce Young Persons Nomination Form and return to the County FA by no later than Friday 30th May 2008.

The Surrey County FA hopes you will all take full advantage of these opportunities to recognise and reward all of those volunteers out there who do so much to drive forward grassroots football in Surrey. If you have any queries or questions regarding any of these processes then please do not hesitate to contact Nick Drew at the county offices nick.drew@surreyfa.com.
