Charter Standard Club County Winners 2006

Every year each County F.A. selects a Charter Standard Club winner in each of the categories below, the awards are recognise the great work done by Charter Standard clubs.

 

Surrey County FA are pleased to announce the County winners of this year Charter Standard Club Awards 2006. All County Winners will receive a Pennant and now go forward for regional selection.

Charter Standard Club - Elite Football
CS Development Club - Guildford Saints FC
Club Administrator - Worplesdon Rangers FC:- Rupert Philips
CS Adult Club - Westside FC
CS Community Club - Kew Park Rangers FC
CS Club Coach - Guildford Saints FC:- Simon Craig

Charter Standard Club Winner: - Elite Football

Elite Football (Sussex) is a unique football club. Players are given individual attention from highly qualified staff at training sessions, and the club plays only friendly matches in the UK, so the emphasis is on improvement and the development of players rather than results. The club presently runs teams at under 11, under 12, and under 13 age groups.

Charter Standard Development Club Winner: - Guildford Saints FC

Guildford Saints FC achieved the Development status in June 2005 and since that time the club has gone from strength to strength. The club has now attracted more players and expanded there girls section so much so that they now have 2 teams in some age groups, with the development of a ladies team within Guildford this coming season the club have achieved a number of goals.

Charter Standard Administration Winner: - Worplesdon Rangers FC

Worplesdon Rangers nominated Rupert Philips for the Charter Standard Administrator Award for the hard work he puts into the club. Over the last 18 months Rupert has almost single handily raised 6 teams and brought to the attention of parents the importance of The FA Charter Standard. So strong his views, 18 coaches enrolled on a coaching course sponsored by the club, setting roots for the clubs healthy future.

Charter Standard Adult Club Winner: - Westside FC

Westside FC strives to provide an efficient well run football club for all members of the local community to enjoy the benefits of playing football within a positive environment. During 2005/06 the adult section is running 4 men’s teams and a ladies team. The club runs coaching sessions at the local Recreation centre for boys on a Thursday evenings and for girls on a Friday evenings. Out of these coaching sessions the club have entered a girl’s under 11 side into the Surrey County Girls League and for the 2005/06 season entered 3 boys teams into the London Saturday Youth League – all coached by players from the adult section.

In January 2006 the players of Westside FC donated unwanted football kit and equipment and this was taken out to Sierre Leone and given away to needy kids and football teams.

The club have recently developed School-Club links with Beatrix Potter Primary School and Raynes Park High School.

Charter Standard Community Club Winner: - Kew Park Rangers

The club has developed from teaching 12 children in 1999 to providing opportunities to over 500 children from the age of 5 to participate in football. The club now runs 22 teams from under 7 to under 16 (of which 5 are Girls teams) in the West Surrey Youth League and the Surrey County Girls League.

The club has trained over 50 young and adult volunteers to level 1 and are in the process of putting through 16 volunteers to level 2. The club has also paid for 12 young adult volunteers to do their referee badge.

Charter Standard Coach Winner: - Guildford Saints FC

Simon Craig has been a fantastic coach and ambassador for Guildford Saints FC over the past season. Simon is a father of 2 with a full time job who became involved with Guildford Saints because his son plays football. This year he successfully completed the FA Level 2 coaching badge and coached the under 11 and under 14 girls teams. Simon undertakes community work on behalf of Guildford Saints in the local schools, taking time off work to do so.
