Charter Standard Club - Elite Football
CS Development Club - Guildford Saints FC
Club Administrator - Toby Seth (Kew Park Rangers)
CS Community Club - Camberley Town Youth FC
CS Club Coach - Kaarlo Airaxin (Barnes Eagles)

Charter Standard Club Winner: - Elite Football
Elite Football (Sussex) club have been rewarded for their continued efforts in providing young players with the opportunity to enjoy and develop their football in a fun and safe environment as they have won the Surrey County Football Association Charter Standard Club of the year award for 2007, retaining the honour from last year.

This award is great recognition of the efforts put in by those involved with the club who have created an unrivalled surrounding for player development. Among other things, the players at the club are now all developed by UEFA B qualified outfield and goalkeeper specific coaches, all players are rotated and receive equal playing time, every player is regularly screened by a chartered physiotherapist to monitor areas such as posture and flexibility, and in July the club will be taking over 100 players abroad for the fifth year, to compete in an International tournament.

A well-earned award for a club that is single-handedly raising the bar for standards and performance among our Charter Standard clubs.

Charter Standard Development Club Winner: - Guildford Saints FC

Another club to retain an award from last year is Guildford Saints, who for the second consecutive season have collected the Surrey County Football Association Charter Standard Development Club award.

Not content to rest after their success last year, the club has pushed on this year, with the start of the season seeing the introduction of a Ladies team for the first time at the club. While priding itself on being well run, friendly and welcoming, this year has also seen the club successfully branching out with the training it offers to its players, with the introduction of some new Brazilian football sessions taking place for all to get involved in.

Guildford Saints have continued to grow from strength to strength and this is a thoroughly deserved award that recognises the work put in by the volunteers who continue to maintain such a high level of management at the club.

Charter Standard Community Club Winner: - Camberley Town Youth FC

Although only a new club to the Charter Standard family, Camberley Town Youth FC have been awarded the 2007 Charter Standard Community Club of the year award, in honour of the club’s continued hard-work and success in providing youth football to Surrey Heath.

Being driven forwards by a young and enthusiastic committee, the club has experienced progression on all fronts this season. The total number of players is at an all time high for the club, with over 400 recorded members for the 2007 season and more expected for next season. In addition, the club now boasts six girls’ teams across four age groups, with two competing in the highest league available. The coaching side of the club has also seen a growth, not only in terms of numbers but in terms of quality, with the club actively encouraging all their coaches to progress up the FA coaching ladder, while still calling on the services of Chelsea in the Community coaches to add an extra dimension to their player’s development.

Camberley Town Youth is a shining example of a well-rounded, organised club that is constantly seeking to enhance the opportunities for young players to develop.

Charter Standard Coach Winner: - Kaarlo Airaxin (Barnes Eagles)

The Surrey County Football Association would like to congratulate Kaarlo Airaxin, of Barnes Eagles FC, for his outstanding contribution to coaching and player development by naming him as the Charter Standard Coach of the Year for 2007.

This has really been an outstanding season for the ever popular, former goalkeeper Kaarlo, who has inspired a generation of Barnes Eagles players through his patient and imaginative coaching methods. As well as being responsible for the largest age group at the club, Kaarlo has also found the time to form a new team, with the purpose of providing playing opportunities for less gifted players, where emphasis is solely placed on the taking part rather than on winning. This is the kind of initiative that will only serve to help encourage younger players to continually participate in the sport of football, no matter what their level of playing ability, which is one of the main areas of focus encompassed by the Charter Standard scheme.

A huge thanks goes out to Kaarlo for all of his continued hard-work and efforts, and we would also like to congratulate him on a well-deserved award.

Charter Standard Administration Winner: - Toby Seth (Kew Park Rangers)

Congratulations also go to Toby Seth for his role at Kew Park Rangers Football Club. Managing the finances and administrative side of a huge Charter Standard Community Club like Kew Park Rangers, where over 650 children play their football, is no easy task and requires a huge amount of time, effort and dedication. This season Toby has gone well over and above what was expected of him as treasurer, as he has not only found the time to administer the financial side of the club, but has also found the time to run an under 11 side, gain his Level 1 Coaching Qualification, and gain his referee’s badge.

Since taking on the position of treasurer at the club in 2002, Toby has played an influential role in helping to build the club into an established Charter Standard Community Club. His successes include brokering 13 sponsorships deals for individual teams, gaining funding from the Buy-A-Brick scheme to go towards a new clubhouse and constantly keeping the club in a healthy financial and administrative state. It is therefore, with great pleasure that we are able to reward Toby for his continued hard-work and efforts, with the Charter Standard Club Administrator of the Year Award.

WE WISH TO CONGRATULATE ALL OF THE ABOVE CLUBS & INDIVIDUALS FOR YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS IN WINNING THESE AWRADS AND WE HOPE THAT YOU CONTINUE TO OFFER SUCH A HIGH QUALITY OF SERVICE TO GRASS ROOTS FOOTBALL IN SURREY FOR YEARS TO COME
