Sutton United Colts Awarded Charter Standard Development earlier thisyear hope to unearth talented youngsters.

Sutton United Colts are hoping to unearth talented youngsters though their youth system and have taken steps to put this ambition into action.

Sutton United Colts, a feeder section for the main football club Sutton United, formulated a Youth Development Plan which started this season.

The plan has been developed to co-ordinate groups within the club's existing structure by expanding the already successful Colts section and integrating it with Mini Soccer. The club was awarded the Football Association Charter Standard Development Club Award earlier this year and intend to build on this foundation.

Steve Griffin has been appointed director of Mini Soccer and has overall responsibility for the development of players and coaches in the 7 to 10 age group.
This fills gaps between the long running soccer school under the management of first team boss John Rains and the existing Colts section.

Sutton will now offer all players and members six tires of football from u7 (Mini School), 11 - 17 (Colts) through to the three remaining sections of youth, reserve and finally first team football.

Regardless of sex or race, Sutton United Colts are now in a position to offer player from u7 a development programme through six key stages of football under the rules and governance of the Football Association. Sutton United Colts are now well placed to offer the best playing, training and coaching facilities in the borough.

Sutton hope to apply for The FA Charter Community Club status within the next two years
