The award, which recognises the fantastic support that clubs like Lingfield offer to the community in promoting best football practice, both on and off the pitch, was presented to the club on the pitch by Surrey County FA Football Development Officer Steven Edwards at half time during the Coca-Cola Championship match, in front of just over 17,000 spectators.
The club has experienced a huge transformation over the space of just three seasons, growing from consisting of only a few willing volunteers running a handful of youth sides and no real youth policy existing, into a highly structured club with teams competing at all ages from under 8's right through to under 18's, where every manager and coach is FA qualified.
Reflecting on this achievement, Michael Potts, Lingfield Youth Chairman said "I cannot tell you how proud I am of our club, the players, the parents, our superb coaches, the committee and all our kind helpers and sponsors - it has been the talk of Lingfield village all week!"
He also added "This award is also an outstanding recognition of our club secretary, Fay Elwood, for all her hard work and dedication".
Lingfield FC is a shining example to all clubs that are aspiring to reach Charter Standard Status.
