Girls football has received a boost, thanks to banking giants Barclays' £30m grass roots sports programme.
And among the many clubs to benefit are Guildford Saints, who have been awarded a set of coaching kit and equipment from Barclays Spaces for Sports.
The donation is one of 1,200 packs being handed out each year to ensure teams across the UK will be helped by the three year scheme.
Saints provide football for more than 100 girls from Uner8 to Under 14 with seven teams playing in the Surrey Girls League this season.
Sutherland Memorial Park at Burpham is the venue every Thursday for football mad girls to train under the supervision of qualified coaches. The clubs annual tournament is due to be held at St.Peter's School, Merrow on May 6-7.
U12's manager Steve Kelly welcomed the news, saying " We are an FA Charter Standard Club which is awarded to those that have certain standards of coaching, administration and child protection while working with young people. This pack will help us maintain that high standard"
And Nick Gault, Barclays sponsorship director, added "We are delighted to be supporting Guildford Saints and hope this coaching pack will encourage their interest in sport and lead them to greater success".
