The FA give this award in recognition of the fantastic support that clubs like Ewhurst Juniors offer to the community in promoting best football practice, both on and off the pitch. The award was presented to the club at the festival by Surrey County FA Football Development Officer Steven Edwards.
The club has grown significantly since it was established in 1985 and now accommodates 8 teams and over 100 young players. Ewhurst Juniors offers football to players from the age of 6 through to under 16, every manager within the club having obtained the FA Level 1 coaching qualification.
Reflecting on this success, Gary Williams, Chairman said "It’s such an exciting time to be involved in the club, new club house, upgraded pitches and achieving our FA Charter Standard award. With the help of Parish Council, The Football Foundation, Surrey FA and all those associated with the club we really are setting ourselves up to achieve great things.”
In conjunction with Ewhurst Parish Council and Ewhurst Youth Club, Ewhurst Juniors FC have recently started to build their new facility after receiving The Football Foundation grant of £315,881.00 representing 69% of funding towards the total project costs £456,338.00. The funding has helped build towards a new changing room pavilion and pitch drainage at Broomers Lane Recreation Ground.
