Day out at Wembley Stadium for Guests of Surrey County FA

The Surrey County FA Football Development Team invited some key partners to the recent England v Slovenia game at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 5th September 2009.

The trip was organised as a reward for some crucial development work that each partner has been involved with during the 2008/2009 season.

Oliver Selfe the Senior Football Development Officer who coordinated the event explains. While the visit to the National Stadium is a great experience it also provided an opportunity for County staff to develop relationships with some key partners that have helped us in the delivery of the County four year plan.

Some of the development work included NPL Youth FC, Tooting and Mitchem FC and Curley Park Rangers FC becoming FA Charter Standard Community Clubs. The Surrey Primary League becoming the largest Charter Standard League in the Country. Surrey County FA have also received much support from the professional football clubs in the County including Woking, Fulham, Chelsea and Crystal Palace.

Although the match did not live up to expectation the guests did manage to see two England goals and had a fantastic day.
