AFC Brooklands awarded the FA Charter Standard Development Award by the Surrey County FA.

AFC Brooklands of Addlestone has good reason to be proud after the club celebrated receiving its FA Charter Standard Development Award, at Selhurst Park, home of Crystal Palace FC, during half-time at the recent Championship game verses Ipswich Town, in front of just over 15,000 spectators.

The FA give this award in recognition of the fantastic support that clubs like AFC Brooklands offer to the community in promoting best football practice, both on and off the pitch. The award was presented to the club on the pitch by Surrey County FA Senior Football Development Officer Oliver Selfe who added, “I am extremely proud to present this award to AFC Brooklands who have done a fantastic job in developing football in and around the Runneymede area of Surrey. They have a fantastic set up and the club is run very professionally. They are an example of what a club can achieve with the right ambition”.

The club has grown significantly since it was established in 2006 and now accommodates 14 teams and over 300 young players. AFC Brooklands offers football to players from the age of 7 through to under 16, every manager within the club have obtained the FA Level 1 coaching qualification.

Reflecting on this success, Jeremy Taylor, AFC Brooklands Chairman said "I am delighted to receive this award, it recognises all the hard work everyone involved in the club have contributed over the years”.
AFC Brooklands now plan to work towards becoming a community standard charter standard club.
