Vic Rolland

Favourite Team: Arsenal

Vic is a retired Electromechanical Engineer having completed a career spanning more than 50 years, most of which being spent in the Aerospace, Marine and Defence industry. This included working in one company for over 25 years starting as an Apprentice and ending up as Joint Managing Director (200+ employees, Sales £7M+). He also became Operations Director of a UK based Division within a substantial American Multi-National organisation. During his latter career years much of his time was spent in roles associated with the restructuring of companies.

Vic played Saturday Junior/Intermediate football in Surrey for 30 years all for one Club (Albury FC) during which time he had spells as Club Captain, Hon Secretary (10 years) and Chairman. Vic also played Sunday football for several years (Dominoes FC), becoming the proud owner of a SCFA Sunday Cup winner’s medal.

Vic qualified as a referee in the mid 1960’s but this lapsed due to his love for actually playing football, though he re-qualified in the mid 1980’s when he stopped playing and became an active referee, achieving Class 1 (now Level 5) a few years later. Vic has now been an active referee for 25+ years and is also a FA Qualified County Referee Assessor and FA Accredited Referee Mentor.

Vic's initial role in the SCFA came about in the late 1980’s when he took up the position of SCRA Delegate to the SCFA Referees’ Committee, later joining the West Division/Council in 2002, eventually leading to him becoming Vice Chairman of the Referees’ Committee and then Chairman in 2005 (succeeding Les Harrington). He joined the Board of Directors in 2006 and currently serves on the Board as its Vice Chairman.
