"I feel privileged to work in an industry that I hold a great interest in and proud to follow in the steps of many talented and skilful people that have held this office since 1882. I have held office since 1998 the first couple of years in an honorary capacity the position becoming paid when the Association became a limited company in 2001. In addition to helping to guide the future of the Association I also have a great interest in its heritage and have a keen desire to ensure that the records of the Association are in some way recorded for future generations.
Although taking a keen interest in all clubs in Surrey at all levels, because both my parents families lived in Sutton I have supported Sutton United since I was taken to see them in the Amateur Cup Final at Wembley in 1963. The professional team that I follow is Liverpool who I regularly go to watch.
There have been many changes to County Associations in the last 10 years and I consider myself fortunate to be supported by an excellent team at the County Office."

"During my 25 years with Surrey County FA I have seen the County Office grow from a few part-time to about 22 full time staff to meet the demands of the modern game. My first job was to record cautions by writing them in a book, something that couldn’t be done now with 15,000 a season.
I have worked at three County Offices in Leatherhead and held several titles to include Computer Supervisor, Administration Manager and currently Office Manager. I spend much of my time with my Yorkshire Terrier, Benji, who has a Luis Suarez shirt and loves to play football, especially in goal."

Mark's role at the Surrey County FA involves managing the Referees Department and dealing with the competitions the County runs.
Prior to joining the Surrey County FA, Mark worked in the catering industry. He gained his qualifications at Brighton College and worked at various industrial catering units including the BBC, Lombards, CGU and Canons. Mark also had a very successful spell as a biscuit designer.
The part of the job Mark likes the most is seeing people enjoying their refereeing and progressing up the promotion ladder. He also enjoys surprises so it is always a treat tidying the work fridge and discovering new varieties of mould!
